Promotional decanters

Promotional decanters made excellent gifts for top clients and employees.

Promotional crystal decanters are gifts that last a lifetime. Think about it… If you were give a nice quality crystal decanter would you be likely to part with it? Of course not! Lead crystal gifts may be slightly more expensive than other business gifts but when you consider the fact that they will continue to promote your brand and message for years their unit price is minuscule.

Engraved decanters are perfect gifts that show your appreciation to top clients and employees. They are a bit heavy to put in the post though they often are. Such gifts really should be handed out in person.

Over the past year I have kept notes about the decanters that have passed through our doors to their happy and often un-expecting recipients. The are almost always purchased in small quantities as extra special gifts. Following are some of the most popular ways to use engraved decanters.

Customer Appreciation Gifts

The larger quantity orders are almost always for special clients. Often these will be handed out near Christmas as a way of saying thank you to the customer for their custom and support over the year. Engraved with your logo and details, these beautiful gifts can sit happily in your clients’ offices and or homes for many years giving them good feelings about your company.

Retirement Gifts

One of the great things about promotional crystal is that you can purchase large or small quantities. Crystal decanters are one of the most popular retirement gifts on the market for this reason. You can give your retiring employees a gift they will cherish.

Employee Incentives

Often decanters are used as incentive for top employees. These and other gifts such as promotional clothing, desktop gifts and bags. What an amazing way to show your appreciation for a job well done.

Selling Decanters

Some business are in the position where they can sell their promotional merchandise. Golf clubs, social organisations and universities are all big users of promotional decanters and other promotional merchandise. They are able to use the merchandise to promote their business or organisation while making a small profit.

In House Use

Many restaurants and bars serve their beverages in engraved decanters and glasses. A nice engraving of a restaurant or pub looks fantastic.

5 Reasons Promotional Sports Bags are Such Popular Business Gifts

Monday, November 29th, 2010

What is it that you look for in promotional products to promote your business?

There have been numerous studies over the years that have shown that the best promotion products are those that people want to own and use. This of course makes sense as if people do not want your gift they are not likely to use it.

Studies have also demonstrated that the more visible gifts printed with your logo and details are much more likely to get good results. It is therefore little wonder that promotional sports bags are such popular promotional items.

In this article we will look at the reason promotional sporting bags are excellent promotional tools.

Promotional Bags are Visible

Your logo and details will be seen and read everywhere the owner takes your promotional sports bag. As they offer nice large print areas, your brand could potentially be seen by thousands of people. In this way you will not only be promoting your business to the user of the bag but everyone they encounter!

Bags are Useful

You know that when you give away a good quality promotional sports bag it is going to be used. Even if the person you give it to is not a sports lover, they could use it as a shopping bag, overnight bag or even a holiday beach bag.

People love taking good quality sports bags to the gym or wherever their sport may be.

Large Print Areas

As previously mentioned, sports bags offer several large print areas. This is a real bonus if you are trying to get your message out to the masses. Print the bags on both sides with your logo and contact details and then let them do the job of promoting your brand. They are very good at it!

Everyone Wants A Sports Bag

These popular and often colourful heavy duty bags will be appreciated by anyone who receives one. They work equally well as special gifts for top clients and employees and sports team members. Perhaps this is why they are often used as employee incentives and even sold at sports clubs.

They Make Excellent Exhibition Giveaways

One of the most popular uses for sports bags is at exhibitions. Many exhibitors hand out promotional bags to people visiting their stand. Often the bags they give away are one use plastic bags. Much more popular these days are bags that can be used again and again. At the exhibition they act as a great way to carry around all the promotional brochures and gifts that are handed out. When the attendee returns home they have a good quality gift they can use in multiple ways.

You will find a massive selection of promotional sports bags at discounted prices at http://www.compugift.co.uk/_/promotional-sports-bags.

Promotional Gifts * 5 Important Promotional Products for Conferences

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Are you planning or sponsoring a conference in the near future? If you are, there are five promotional products which are used more than others. These are all needed promotional items that are useful and help to make any conference a success.

These five promotional gifts also just happen to be some of the most popular items for promotions in general. They are the products that are asked for every day. Here I would like to introduce – or should I say re-introduce – these must have conference accessories.

Promotional Pens

Personalise logo printed pens are available in many different prices brackets. From good quality plastic pens to metal gift pens, they are all used at conferences to take notes and jot down other information. The key thing to consider when purchasing promotional writing instruments is what you are trying to accomplish.

You could give away cheap pens with short writing lives but your promotion will be a much bigger success if you give attendees to the conference a pen they will enjoy writing with. I do not mean the pen has to be expensive! There are many good quality low cost plastic pens on the market that write fantastically and look great.

Promotional Conference Folders

Just like promotional pens, folders are available in many different price brackets. If you have a small budget, consider giving out personalised good quality PVC folders . If you have a little more to spend, you may wish to look into PU, bonded leather or even top quality leather. There are also many nice nylon and micro fibre folders just waiting for printed logos.

Most promotional folders come with a plain note pad but printed pads can also be requested.

Promotional Mugs

If you want to ensure you message is taken home or back to the office, put it on a promotional mug. On average, we take five coffee or tea breaks every day at work. A nicely printed mug could keep your message in your customers’ hands and eye-sight.

Promotional Badges

Have you ever attended an important conference where you were not handed a name badge? I am going to guess not. Promotional badges are very inexpensive which is a good thing as they are rarely worn after the conference. They do offer a good way for attendees and organisers to know who they are speaking to.

Promotional Conference Bags

Whether you are looking for low cost reusable shopper bags or something a little more business oriented such as heavy-duty conference bags, you will be spoiled for choice. You will find bags to meet most budgets.

If you leave yourself a few weeks to source your conference products, you could also colour coordinate your promo-items. It is a good idea to source everything from one company if this is of interest to you.

Getting the Most Out of Your Promotional Pens

Sunday, November 28th, 2010
Promotional Parker Jotter Pens

Promotional Parker Jotter Pens are some of the most popular corporate pens in the UK.

Choosing cost effective promotional merchandise can be one of the greatest challenges for the business owner. It is important to search for promotional products that will attract new customers and keep those long time loyal customers loyal.

This task is made even more frustrating when you do not realise instant results. Often this has led small business owners and even a few larger businesses to slim down their marketing budgets.

This is not a good idea.

You see, when you use good quality promotional pens to promote your brand, you know that you are giving away gifts that will be used and will ultimately achieve excellent results over time.

Following are a few ways to use promotional pens and gift pens in your marketing that will get you the results you want.

Give Promotional Plastic Pens Around the Office

Whether you have a lot of staff or just a few, ensuring a good quantity of logo printed pens are scattered around the office is a good idea. This will help increase brand awareness with your employees and any visitors. It will also ensure no one needs to go looking for pens around the office.

Give Away Good Quality Plastic Pens at Special Events

Whether you are exhibiting at a trade show or doing a direct mailing campaign, ensure your good customers receive at least one quality plastic pen – more if you can. Quality is the key word here.

Remember that although cheap plastic pens may seem like a good idea at the time, over time they could do you more harm than good. They could even make your business look cheap.

Give Quality Metal Gift Pens to Top Clients

You should give all of your customers plastic promo pens but if you have a few top clients you really want to impress, nothing beats the name brands! Look into the selections supplied by Parker Pens, Lamy Pens, Cross Pens and Waterman.

Giving a name brand pen will show your customers how much you appreciate their business. These name brand pens can be used for many years.

If you are on a budget, check out the slightly less expensive range by Balmain. These gift pens write smoothly and look fantastic.

One Final Thought

Let’s say you purchase 50 Balmain gift pens at £7.50 each. This could look like a lot of money to the small business owner. At first it could be. But when you consider that business gifts that are needed often and are of good quality can be kept for years, they are an amazing value for money.

Let’s see… 25 pens at £7.50 each is £375.00. Over a year, you are paying less than a pound per day to advertise to your top 50 customers! Not bad if you ask me.

4 Tips for Promoting Your Business with a Daily Blog

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

Online marketing is a complex field for new initiates. Blogging, in particular, is one of the best advertising strategies on the internet, but it’s also one of the most under-utilised.

Those unfamiliar with the dynamics of promoting their products and services on the internet often fall prey to a host of common newcomer mistakes that reduce the effectiveness of their blog’s content.

Fortunately, there are some well-tested strategies that make promoting one’s business simple using a daily blog format, and if you pay attention to the details, you can create a blog that works for you with little effort. Here are five great ways to use your daily blog to build your brand and increase your profits.

Describe yourself

Many sites leave business descriptions entirely to the “About” section of their web portals. While this is standard, good marketing strategists know that these pages are often too text-heavy to be effective in the long run.

As consumers typically only want to see a bit of information at a time, there’s nothing wrong with presenting your business concepts in parts, easily divided by your blog.

By addressing different sections of your business separately, like your production facilities, corporate offices, storefronts or new promotions and projects, you make it easier for interested consumers to check you out at their leisure.

Keep it informal

While you are running a business, remember that your blogs are supposed to be a bit more personal, so don’t scare customers away by creating content that only focuses on business.

Unless you’re only targeting professionals in a certain field, avoid using too many technical terms. Instead, use your blog to promote your business with interesting facts, tips and new product descriptions that are written in plain English.

As I mainly blog about promotional gifts, for example, I might write one blog on the benefits of using promotional desktop gifts to promote your business or how promotional pens could help you to have more successful exhibitions.

Brevity Rules

There’s no real set length for blogs. Although businesses do tend to focus on keyword density, the size of a daily blog article ought to be dictated by the amount of actual content you’ve got to talk about, meaning that each blog will be different.

If a new law or regulation affects your readers or your business, it would behoove you to address this in a daily blog. Write with short sentences and paragraphs so that it is easy for your reader to pick out the information that interests them.

Integrate the reader with pertinent, real-world subject matter in short digestible bites.

Don’t forget your products

In my product blogs I always include information about new promotional gifts, promotional products and business gifts that my readers could find of interest. When possible I include pictures to back up the text descriptions. Try to engage the readers with information that you think will be of use to them.

What Do You Want From Your Low Cost Promotional Plastic Pens?

Friday, November 26th, 2010

If you are purchasing promotional pens for your next promotion, you need to ask yourself what you are trying to accomplish with them. I receive enquiries daily for the ‘cheapest promotional pens’ we do.

They cost about 10p each and personally I hate them. You probably would too.

Promotional pens are one of the best ways to promote your business or organisation. They work well because they are useful. Everyone needs to write at home and/or at work daily.

The best promotional gifts are those that are both useful and that people want to own. When you are looking for the cheapest pens available you will most likely end up with a pen that does not fulfil either of these reuirements.

For under 20p each, you can purchase good quality plastic pens if you order in large quantities. If you are ordering a small quantity of pens, say 250 to 1000, you will want to be looking around the 30 to 40p mark for pens that write well, look good and have the added bonus of being the kind of low cost gifts people will actually want.

Of course you get what you pay for.

I always recommend asking for samples before placing an order for low cost plastic promotional pens. Write with the samples and ask your work colleagues to do so as well.

Think to yourself – do you want to own that pen. Would you write with it often? Would you throw it in the bin or keep it safely in your top desk drawer?

Anyone would prefer to write with a good quality and more expensive gift pen. These are gifts you can save for your best clients but plastic pens are still required and looked for everyday. Most people will keep a few in their desk or briefcase even if they have a better quality brand name gift pen on their desktop.

It is important to note that their are hundreds of thousands of promotional plastic pens on the market. You will want to look around and check out both the generic and name brand options such as Senator, Lecce and Prodir.

Generally speaking, the name brand plastic pens are the best but there are some very good quality generic pens on the market. Do not be afraid to ask for any of the samples of pens that are of interest to you as they are normally free of charge and will help you with your decision.

A promotional pens supplier should be able to offer you professional advice about which personalised pens are best for you. If you are looking for a long writing life you will want to look for Senator and Prodir pens. If you need to have your logo printed in full colour, Senator, Lecce and Bic are all good places to start. If you want metal pens at plastic pen prices, you should be able to find these as well.

Spend a little time while sourcing and you will be much happier when your printed promotional pens arrive.

Promotional Ice Scrapers Will Get That Winter Promotion on Track

Thursday, November 25th, 2010
Promotional ice scrapers

Promotional ice scrapers make excellent low cost gifts

One of my first jobs out of college was working for a well known car hire firm called Enterprise Rent a Car in California. Back then, the brand was still quite young and not very well known. Whenever we opened a new office or offices in a new city, promotional gifts played a major role in getting our name out to the insurance adjusters, car dealerships and body repair shops who were our target customers. One of the most popular promotional gifts we handed out in the winter were promotional ice scrapers.

As I write this I am watching the snow fall outside my office window in the North East of England. In winter time we need ice scrapers almost every day as apposed to once a month in California. So it is little wonder that personalised ice scrapers are such popular low cost gifts here. They are a must have item for drivers during the cold months.

The best promotional gifts are always the gifts that people use and want to own. They do not need to be expensive to be effective and this is evident from the popularity of promotional ice scrapers.

A good guide price for promotional ice scrapers is around 50p each but there are more expensive and less expensive options. Generally speaking the price is down quality and the number purchased though you can also find better deals from promotional gift suppliers who actually import their own promotional items from the Far East and/or work closely with local manufacturers.

One good thing about promotional ice scrapers is that they will be kept in the car for years. Most are made to last many winter seasons so you will be enjoying the benefits of handing out these popular low cost business gifts for a very long time.

There are ice scrapers on keyrings, larger versions with handles and some are even manufactured with recycled materials which will show your company’s interest in preserving the environment.

All of your clients should have a good quality ice scraper with your logo and details in their cars. Don’t just stop there, however. Give all of your friends, employees and work colleagues a couple to put in their cars. They will then see your logo and details through the winter as will anyone riding with them.

Give Your Marketing a Boost with Promotional Crystal

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

Have you ever seen the amazing selection of top quality promotional crystal products that are available to promote your business or organisation? The range is endless and can help drive your marketing in whatever direction you choose.

Many businesses do anything they can in order to appeal to existing and potential clients, which can involve a variety of different methods.

One of the best ways onsite is in the boardroom. Keeping the room clean and in great condition is paramount, but no matter how clean it is, no one is going to be impressed if it is mundane. A popular way to elevate a company boardroom to the next level is to utilise promotional crystal and glass.

When people think “crystal and glass,” they often think of things like engraved wine glasses and decanters. While these are indeed extremely popular and dominate the industry, there are a wide variety of other items that can be purchased, such as engraved crystal coasters, bowls, paperweights and photo frames among other items.

The bottom line is that crystal and glass looks great no matter what form they are in, and can really boost the visual appeal of your boardroom.

The advantages of purchasing engraved crystal and glass promotional products are tenfold. Promotional items are often thrown away or lost when they are either not of any use or manufactured out of cheap low quality materials.

Promotional products that are made out of glass or crystal are kept and displayed for years, helping to build your brand all along the way. They also make excellent gifts that your customers and employees will enjoy receiving and will likely hold onto for a very long time.

The best thing about promotional crystal and glass items is that they can be used in a variety of different circumstances. One of the most popular usages of promotional crystal and glass is to engrave them to commemorate a special occasion such as a wedding, sporting event, retirement party, charity event or other major event.

Promotional crystal and glass is also very useful for grand openings, and can be produced simply with the goal of building brand identity in mind.

Many people steer away from purchasing promotional items because they falsely believe that they have to order large quantities. Fortunately, crystal and glass promotional items are available in both small and large quantities, making it easy for even the smallest of businesses to utilise them in one way or another.

Let promotional crystal and glass give your marketing that all important boost.

Promotional Decanters Make Excellent Business Gifts

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010
Gallery lead crystal decanter

Promotional lead crystal decanters are gifts that last a lifetime!

Instead of the standard £20.00 gift card you give out to your employees as a Christmas gift, why not put a little more thought into the gift and get them something they will remember.

Imagine their surprise when you present your secretary and the other employees you supervise with a beautiful engraved crystal decanter. Engraved crystal looks and sometimes can be very expensive, but when you purchase in bulk the unit price goes down.

Engraving the company name as well as a personal message to each employee will not only build company loyalty, but also make each employee feel appreciated. Engraved decanters do not get tossed after a few weeks. They are a great keepsake that people tend to hold on to for years.

They go well as a nice piece of desktop decor or they can be taken home and

Gallery lead crystal ships decanter

This ships decanter has been a favourite with our customers for years!

displayed on a shelf.

Giving your valued clients a decanter is a great way to keep in contact with current customers who may want to do more business with your company. It is a good investment to spend a few pounds on something as nice as a crystal decanter and send it in a nice gift box to your clients as a token of appreciation for their business. You might even include a bottle of personalised wine with the decanter.

Do you remember when your boss gave you a gift for Christmas? If you had a good boss and worked for a good company, you usually got a nice gift as well as a check as a little Christmas bonus.

These days, companies are cutting back and many employees will no longer receive gifts from their employer. In the end, employees will probably lose loyalty and maybe not work as hard if they don’t feel appreciated.

So, what if you spend $20.00 on 10 valuable employees and make them happy with a decanter engraved with the company logo. They will automatically feel appreciated and will want to work harder at their job. The few pounds you expend buying gifts will come back to your company tenfold in productivity.

Don’t think of a promotional gift as an expense. Think of it as an investment in the company’s future.

Using Article Marketing and Blogging to Increase Your Sales

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

Are you considering using blogging and article marketing to promote your business?

If you are, you are going to need to dedicate yourself to quality articles. This means that you can forget about those automated article writing programs (the results really do read like a robot wrote them), and you probably won’t want to outsource to overseas writers.

I strongly recommend writing all of your articles or having someone within your organisation do so. No one knows your business like you do, after all.

The difficulty with this, is that writing often takes up a lot of time and you may need to outsource to keep your blog live and popular.

Even professional writers often do not write fast enough to support an entire blog/article network all on their own. So the trick is maintaining control over all of this content.

It’s sort of like being a magazine editor as opposed to being a staff writer. An editor probably has a background in writing, and they might sit down and write an article now and then, but their primary duty is to control and dictate the content of a magazine.

They come up with ideas for articles, hire qualified talent and they have final say on what goes in and what gets scrapped. That’s what you’re doing, only on the web instead of in print.

If you’re new to all this blogging and article marketing, here are the core three tips you need to keep in mind to control your content and increase your sales.

Hire Strong Talent

You need to hire writers that you can actually trust to take what you’ve briefed them on, and write a good article or a great blog post with it. If you find yourself giving them dozens of notes on every single article, then you have to ask yourself: are they really this hard to work with, or am I?

There’s no point in spending more time correcting your writers than it would take to have written the article yourself, so hire someone you can simply trust with the articles so that a proofread and a correction here and there should be all the control you feel the need to exercise.

Quality and Quantity: They Both Count

Nobody’s going to read a poorly written article to the end, and nobody’s going to subscribe to a blog that’s only updated once a month. Quality and quantity are both incredibly important. Finding the balance between casting a wide net and spreading yourself too thin may be tricky at first.

Over time you will know what you are able to do yourself and how much you need to outsource.

Cover a Wide Range of Topics, but Keep it Focused

Each blog will focus on its own subject, each series of articles will have its own topic, its own style, but it should all form a pattern when it comes together.

My blog, for example focusses on low cost ways to promote your business. That is therefore something that needs to be discussed in every post.

One series of blogs could be focused on where to find trade priced promotional gifts while another series might be creative copywriting, but the bottom line is this: by the time the reader is done with your article, you want them to be interested in the services you offer and follow your blog.

At CompuGift we specialise in new marketing techniques. We can offer advice on using promotional merchandise, copywriting, blogging, article marketing, search engine optimisation and social media.
