With Christmas party season closing in quickly, promotional cameras could be just the promotional tools you need.

Over the years, we have supplied our fair share of promotional cameras to businesses and organisations. The bulk of these orders come in between October and January as company Christmas parties are planned and organised. That said, promotional cameras are great gifts year round and here we would like to show you some of the many ways we have seen them used for promotional purposes.

The most popular promotional cameras are still the single use cameras which use film. This is down to their low price tag and the fact that they can be printed in full colour all over the surface. These are available with or without a flash and cost only a few pounds each.

Using single use promotional cameras at parties and special events

Consider placing a printed promotional camera on each table at a company party. Better yet, if budget allows, give each guest a promotional camera. Encourage your guests to take pictures during the evening so that you can publish the best pictures.

People will love trying to get the best pictures and your logo and details will be right in their hands. This is a great way of livening up an event, helping to create a fun atmosphere while promoting your brand.

Promotional cameras for in car use

Many of our customers over the years have given their clients promotional cameras printed with their details. One of the easiest ways to do this is at a party when guests can take the cameras away with them in a goody bag.

Often these gifts are given with other travel related gifts. The cameras can be used on holiday or placed somewhere safe to take pictures should the owner of the camera be in an accedent.

We live in a time when almost everyone has a camera built into their phone. But when a camera is needed, it’s always nice to have a backup.

Promotional cameras for long term promotions

Single use cameras can often be kept for a long time but more often than not they are used for an event. For longer promotions, you may wish to look into promoting your business with digital cameras.

These cost a bit more but when you consider the length of time they can be used, they offer great value for money.

Promotional Gifts – How To Get The Best Results From Your Next Trade Show

Sunday, January 30th, 2011

Trade shows are a proven method of generating brand awareness, building industry connections and developing business leads. Promotional gifts have long played a part in trade show exhibiting as a way to advertise a brand and generate customer goodwill.

Businesses have relied on them for so long that trade show visitors expect to haul away overstuffed goodie bags in exchange for spending their day in the exhibition hall.

Despite the sometimes awe-inspiring quantities of free stuff that some visitors take away, exhibitors don’t always see great results from the trade show experience. So how can you use promotional gifts to get better results?

One way is to use promotional items before the show. Letting customers and prospects know that you will be exhibiting is a great way to reach out and to generate traffic to your booth. Enclosing a small item in the invitation can help to re-establish interest in your products. Customers who plan on attending the show will be more likely to seek out your exhibit, and can also introduce you to new prospects.

Providing the right promotional gifts during the show is always an effective way to gain exposure for your company and to develop relationships with prospects. Items that are useful and relevant to the industry are the biggest draws. If you have things that people are likely to keep using for years, these items will continue to promote your brand. This makes your trade show experience more productive because the products continue to advertise for you.

Remember that placing too many items on the table at once can make it look like you have a surplus. From a customer’s viewpoint, a surplus indicates that each item has a lower value. Be sure not to overload your display area. At the same time, keep enough of a supply so that people don’t feel uncomfortable about taking one. The items won’t have any benefit if they stay on your table.

Also be sure to use promotional gifts to generate leads. Offer a higher-value item in exchange for filling out a customer survey or signing up for your mailing list. Without a system to collect leads, there is no way to measure trade show success accurately.

Above all, make sure that your imprinted logo and contact information is legible. No promotional item can be effective when it makes it difficult for customers to contact you. Poorly made products also give the impression that quality is not a priority for you. This is not the first impression you want customer to have as they file past your booth. Always use quality goods. Trade show gifts that are well made will be used and appreciated and will always provide the best results.

Trade Show Facts * Giving Useful Promotional Gifts Will Promote Your Business For Longer

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

Business owners are always looking for better ways to promote their companies. Trade shows are the perfect venue. After all, there is a captive audience looking to make industry connections and spend money on products and services. Of course, exhibitors have to compete for the audience’s attention.

Some exhibitors advocate giving away lighthearted and “gimmicky” items. Their rationale is that everyone else is giving away the same old pens, boring office supplies and unimaginative mouse pads. They feel that wilder is better when it comes to getting customer’s attention at trade shows.

Off-the-wall promotional items will certainly catch a customer’s eye. They may even be popular with customers who want to take the items home simply for the novelty factor. But after the show, how much interest is there in a product that really serves no purpose?

The fact is, when promotional products solve a problem or serve a function, people keep them. These items are taken to work, placed on desktops or placed carefully within reach in a top desk drawer. These are the things that don’t get thrown away or forgotten.

One of the things you will notice at any trade show is the number of visitors carrying logo-imprinted bags. This is because people get tired of walking around with their arms full. Observant exhibitors know this and provide promotional bags to solve this problem for them.

How likely is it that the customer will keep these bags around? They will if they are useful or unique in some way. Oversized bags and comfortable handles are practical and useful. People tote these bags everywhere from school to shopping, displaying a logo for years. Bags might not be trendsetting or humorous, but they certainly are effective.

Throughout the workday we all have to do mundane tasks like opening mail, drawing straight lines, taking measurements and sharpening pencils. We reach for letter openers and rulers several times per day to do these jobs for us. No one wants to throw away a handy gadget or tool from a trade show, especially one that works well.

Providing practical items that solve problems is a sound strategy. Recipients keep these things on their desks for years.

There is a reason why pens, coffee mugs and mouse pads are among the most popular promotional gifts: People love useful items. Pens, mugs and mouse pads are probably the most-used desktop items in any office. It makes sense to put your name on items like these. These high-demand promotional gifts are the least likely to be discarded or forgotten about. Popular styles and colors may change, but useful gifts will always provide lasting value. An item with a short shelf life doesn’t provide much value at all.

Promotional Gifts – Which are the Best for Trade Shows and Exhibitions?

Monday, January 17th, 2011

I was on the new Q&A social networking site Quora the other day and found a question very similar to the title of this article. I didn’t like some of the of the answers. Many people were insisting that gimmicky gifts were the best. A few even said that exhibitors should leave their promotional pens and mugs at home as they are old hat and boring.

Many studies, however, have shown such advice to be very bad advice!

You see, independent studies are done regularly for different organisations within the promotional gifts industry. All of these studies have shown that it is in fact the ‘boring’ gifts that get the best results.

Why?

Because they are useful products that we all require often.

One Quora member even answered that he once received a cap with a place for two beer cans and straws from which he could drink the beer from his hat.

Great. I love beer. But isn’t it a lot easier to drink it from a glass – cold? Such a gift – though fun to give away is a gimmicky gift and these promotional products have very limited promotional lives.

Give me the boring gifts any day. The products that I will want to own and use. These are the products that I could be using for months if not years.

Think about it… When was the last time you ever threw away a promotional mug. Pens may get lost from time to time but good quality pens could write for years. Mouse mats, USB flashdrives, decanters and picture frames are all examples of promotional products that can sit on a person’s desk for years promoting your brand.

Will that beer hat be around that long? I rest my case.

There are three things to consider when purchasing promotional merchandise for an exhibition;

1.) Are the gifts useful?

Look for gifts that will get used. These are the gifts that will promote your business better and longer. Products such as promotional pens, mouse mats, pen pots and other stationery products are just some of the gifts that work very well.

2.) Could you better target my customers with gifts they will really love?

If you know your customers well, you may be able to find gifts that will suite their needs better than the most popular gifts such as pens, mugs and and clothing. Builders will always have a requirement for tape measures, torches and thermoses for example.

3.) Are the gifts of good quality?

It is often difficult to see from a picture in a catalogue or online the quality of a product. As for samples if time allows to ensure that you are purchasing promotional merchandise that you will be happy to give your customers.

4 Tips For a Successful Exhibition

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

If your company has ever exhibited, you will know that it can be fun and hopefully productive. In addition, it can be very exhausting as you invite people onto your stand to learn more about what you do and who you are. It can be difficult to continue sounding fresh while using the same pitch on prospect after prospect. It is for this reason that you will want to ensure your exhibition stand is professional looking and that your staff are properly trained so that they can vary their script enough to make the exhibition more interesting for them as well. This training will also be useful when they return to their normal work environment and engage people on the phone or face to face. Planning your stand can go a long way toward having a successful exhibition for you and your staff.

Following are four things you will want to consider before the big event;

Clothing: Many companies will ask their staff to arrive in business attire. Ten years ago, this was still the norm but nowadays, it is much more common to dress down in fashionable comfortable clothing. Many will dress in polo shirts or dress shirts that have been embroidered with their company logo. This helps build brand awareness and really looks the part on the stand. Of course, if you do want to go the more formal route, you could have some corporate ties supplied that will help show that you are part of the team.

Plan Your Stand: If you are going to go to the expense of exhibiting, don’t simply put up a card table in the shell stall space that you have been allotted! If you cannot do it right, consider promoting your company in other ways and only exhibit when your budget allows for you to do it professionally. This means purchasing either an exhibition stand printed in full colour or at least a few nice banners that can be placed around your stand. You will also want a nice table or shelving units that can feature your brochures and products if applicable.

Promotional Gifts: Exhibitions are a brilliant opportunity to meet your customers and prospective customers. I find it such a waste when people exhibit and do not hand out promotional material for visitors to their stand to take with them. People love free gifts and if you plan ahead, you can ensure your stand is not only decorated with proper banners but also your personalized gifts such as stress balls, mugs and pens. If you budget allows, purchase a few different types as they look great on the stand. Business gifts help build your brand and ensure that people remember you when they get back to their office. Make sure all of the gifts on your stand feature your logo and contact details.

Qualify Your Visitors: Once you have your stand, clothing and gifts in place, don’t just stand their smiling. It is time to gather information. You will find that many of the people that come on your stand are excellent prospects. Other may not be. In fact they may not have any use for your products or services. I like to recommend that you or your staff engage each and every visitor. Have a few questions for them such as what they do, who they work for, do they have any use for your products… Those that answer your question correctly are qualified prospects and should be given much more attention. Perhaps you could take them onto your stand, ensure they have all of your promotional literature and even a nice printed gift that you hold back for the best prospects. Visitors that do not quality should be politely waved on their way. You are paying to be on the stand exhibiting your company. Use this time wisely.

Exhibiting can be a very rewarding experience. If you plan for it properly, you will get much more out of the event than if you do not.

I hope this blog has be of interest to you.  Please feel free to leave a comment.
