Promotional T-shirts- Promoting Your Brand to The General Public

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

Promotional T-shirts will get you noticed!

Are you looking for a catchy way to promote your brand to the general public? In my opinion, there are few ways to do this that are better than promotional t-shirts. Your customers will love receiving the logo printed clothing. Each time they wear the promotional t-shirts they will be attracting attention to your brand and message.

Few people will not be able to find a use for a free logo printed t-shirt. Personally I must have about fifty – some I wear regularly. I have had a couple for years which I wear out with friends and work colleagues further promoting the brands of the companies that had them printed.

This is why promotional t-shirts make such amazing promotional gifts. They just keep promoting and promotion for as long as they are worn.

Often it is the colour of the shirt that says just as much as the logo and message that is printed on the front. I you have a company colour that people associate with your brand, look for promotional t-shirts in that colour. One popular printed t-shirt brand – Slazenger – offer a rainbow of popular colours.

Promotional t-shirts can be used as free giveaways or as prizes and incentives. Hand them out at your next trade show or offer them as an incentive to your staff to hit sales targets. If you are lucky, you may even have a logo that people will pay to wear such as shirts printed with popular alcohol brands, restaurants, bars and cars.

At the end of the day, there are hundreds of popular ways to attract attention to your brand. Promotional t-shirts are some of the most popular. You don’t really even need me to tell you this as it is obvious. Look around at the people around you. How many promotional t-shirts can you see in an hour? Chances are quite a few!

Promotional shirts can be printed on the front and back which is the most popular place to print them. You might also like to consider printing near the collar or on the sleeves. Printing in unusual places attracts attention as well.

At CompuGift Limited, we specialise in promotional clothing. Why not call us today to discuss your requirements. We would be happy to arrange for you to see samples of the promotional t-shirts that are of interest to you.

Gym and Weight Loss Centre Promotions – Get Your Logo on Promotional Merchandise

Biggest Loser T-shirts

The printed Biggest Loser T-shirt

Promotional gifts work wonders for promoting weight loss centres and programs. That was brought home to me last night as I relaxed in front of the TV.

I watched the UK version of “The Biggest Loser’ last night. That’s the program that takes a group of very obese adults, offers them a healthy diet and puts them all to work in the gym under the instruction of two trainers. They are all trying to get down to a healthy weight but the ‘biggest loser’ gets the added bonus of winning £25,000.

As I sat their sipping my coke and eating my beef burger, I watched as they all sweat it out trying to shed the pounds. Then it suddenly donned on me just how well the program was advertised with promotional gifts.

Each of the contestants had large promotional t-shirts printed with’ The Biggest Loser.’ In fact, almost everything they touched sported the same logo. From their sports drink bottles to their towels and paper pads, they all had the logo nice and large printed for all to see.

This was really no different to my own gym where the manager always ensures his gift shop is stocked high with promotional merchandise printed or embroidered with the gym’s logo.

Later in the show they advertised the newly published Biggest Loser Book which had just gone on sale. No doubt they will also be selling some of the clothing and other useful gadgets used on the show as well.

Promotional gifts are not just gifts. Promotional merchandise is anything that carries a logo and/or contact details. These types of product loan themselves to the weight loss business very well

If you are marketing a gym or weigh loss program, your clients will often take pride in the fact that they are part of it. These same clients will often purchase products with the logo of the place or program. If not, they are unlikely to turn down a free printed gift.

Whether you are in the lucky position where you can actually charge for your logo printed merchandise or you give the products away, the end result is ultimately the same.

These products sell. They promote the places, products or programs they are printed with to the recipient and everyone they happen to encounter. Many of these products can last for months if not years. This means that thousands of people can see your brand information all for one small cost.

Now that’s good marketing!

See How Easily You Can Gather An Audience At A Trade Show With Promotional T-Shirts

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

Promotional t-shirts are one of the most effective means of advertising your business. In addition to promoting your brand, they are one of the top ways to generate traffic to your trade show display. With a little strategy and creativity, it’s easy to use them to gather an audience around your booth.

Wear Them Yourself

When your representatives are all wearing matching clothing printed with your business logo, it creates a strong visual impression. Well-designed, attractive and recognizable logos are an instant draw. When customers see that many printed t-shirts at once, they will probably wonder if they can get one of their own and walk over to ask.

One way to draw instant attention is to wear black or a variety of colours. Black shirts look sharp and are highly sought after. A wide variety of colours also captures people’s interest, and can help you stand out in a sea of white shirts.

Use Them As Part Of Your Display

Hanging logo printed t-shirts creatively is a great way to entice customers to your booth. Hang them high enough so that people can see them from a distance. Tightly folded shirts at the back of your display will only be seen by “drive by” traffic and won’t do much to attract a crowd. When visitors see them as soon as they enter the building, they will make it a point to stop by your display.

Give Them Away

From a customer standpoint, promotional shirts are some of the most desirable items to come away with from a trade show. They are useful, practical, and if your shirts are good quality, they are guaranteed to be worn. When visitors see others with your t-shirts draped over their arms they are more likely to walk over to your display. Some may even approach people to ask where your display is located.

Place promotional clothing prominently and within reach. When passers-by see the activity at your booth, you will soon have an audience several people deep looking for the right colour and size. Offer children’s sizes and the crowd around your display will grow quickly.

People tend to wear logo printed clothing right away. They may wear your company’s t-shirt in their hotel or around town, and may even wear it if they return to the show. Clear logos and attractive designs will make visitors check their exhibitor lists to find your booth for a shirt of their own.

Want to get your logo out and about promoting your brand? Promotional t-shirts will do just that.

Promotional Gifts – Clothing – 3 Things to Avoid – 3 Things to Do

Sunday, January 9th, 2011

There is no doubt about it… Promotional clothing gets a brand noticed. Printing or embroidering a logo onto a polo shirt, jacket or cap can promote your business for months if not years. People love to wear the logos of businesses they know and respect. Each time they wear your logo they are essentially walking billboards for your brand.

Having been in the promotional gifts industry for over 20 years, I would like to offer you a bit of advice so that you can get the most out of your promotional clothing.

Avoid:

1.) Avoid purchasing directly from a catalogue. Let’s face it – a shirt looks like a shirt in a catalogue. There is no way to check if for quality from a picture. Believe me, quality can vary greatly.

2.) Avoid poor quality clothing. Would you like to wear clothing that doesn’t feel good to wear or loses its shape after washing? Your customers will throw away such cheap garments and your promotion will go away as well.

3.) Avoid Rush Buying. There is no point limiting yourself to those garments that can be personalised in a hurry. If you allow yourself a few weeks before your promotional clothing is needed, you will have a much larger selection to choose from and you could even save on the unit cost.

Do:

1.) Ask for printed or embroidered samples. This is the only way you can check not only the quality of the product but the personalisation quality your supplier can achieve. It also allows you to check sizes which can vary from brand to brand.

2.) Consider the use of your promotional clothing. If you are purchasing shirts for your customers, one each is fine. If you are purchasing polo shirts for your employees to wear on a daily basis, you will want to order at least three shirts per person.

No one wants to get home from work and have to do their washing every day.

3.) Insist on quality products. Your promotion will only last as long as your clothing is worn. I like to think of promotional gifts such as clothing by their cost per impression value.

The additional cost for quality clothing will be insignificant if you consider the cost per impression. If a cheap jacket is thrown away after a couple months of use but a quality jacket is worn regularly for years, which offers the be value for your money?

Top quality garments to do not need to be expensive! You can find excellent quality clothing online at a fraction of the cost you will find in printed catalogues.

Using Promotional Clothing to Build Your Brand

Promotional Cotton Bags

Promotional cotton bags are an excellent eco friendly choice

You do not need me to tell you how popular promotional clothing is for brand promotion. Everywhere you look, people are wearing corporate clothing such as promotional t-shirts, promotional sweatshirts and caps.

Many businesses such as hotels, restaurants and travel firms use promotional clothing as part of their corporate uniform. This is done not only to promote brand awareness but to help customers know who is employed by the company.

Promotional clothing is also a fantastic way to promote brand awareness at special events such as exhibitions and conferences. Often businesses ask their staff to wear logo printed t-shirts or polo shirts to help promote their company and make them look more professional.

Printed t-shirts are the most popular promotional clothing. They are less expensive than other corporate wear and can look great. T-shirts are therefore available in a massive range of colours.

Polo shirts usually embroidered rather that printed. These shirts look great when worn on the exhibition stand or during a conference.

If you are using promotional clothing such as shirts to wear at a conference, exhibition or every day in the office, it is a good idea to give each staff member at least three shirts. That way they will not need to do washing every day when they return home from work.

In addition to promotional t-shirts and polo shirts, there are many different garments to choose from. You can order shoes, trousers, lanyards, hats, jackets… You name it, you can probably find it.

Of course one of the most popular ways to use promotional clothing to build your brand is to give the garments away. Everyone love free stuff. Give away a logo printed t-shirt or cap and your target customers or employees could be helping build your brand for months if not years each time they wear the printed clothing.

This is free advertising at its best.

Before placing an order, I always recommend requesting samples. That way you can check the sizes, colours and quality of the promotional clothing that interests you. You could be surprised how different a promotional t-shirts looks in a catalogue when compared to the actual product.

It is also a good idea to ask for printed or embroidered samples so that you can see the quality of the imprint. Most suppliers will offer this as standard as they will want to show off the work they have done on behalf of their other customers.

How to Use Walking Billboards such as Promotional Umbrellas and T-shirts to Increase Sales

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

I like to refer to promotional products that people carry from place to place as walking billboards. After all, they work like billboards that can be seen wherever they happen to be carried and used. This offers tremendous advertising space for many types of businesses.

Let’s look at Stu who is the manager of a popular hotel near an exclusive golf course. His hotel is in the Highlands of Scotland where it is often quite windy and rainy. His hotel also offers a popular bar and restaurant.

Given the fact that many of the people in the area are from out of town, he chose to order 50 umbrellas with his hotel logo and the restaurant on alternate panels. As he was on a budget, he chose the cheapest umbrellas he could find which he let hotel guests use during their stay.

Can you guess what happened next?

Within a week, the majority of the promotional umbrellas were either sticking out of bins around the golf course or simply discarded along the road.

Cheap promotional gifts have their place. Inexpensive t-shirts are great for promoting school clubs and those budget umbrellas will work fine if you happen to sell products in a tourist area where people may run into your shop for a low cost umbrella to protect them from a sudden rain storm.

If you are promoting your business, however, it is always best to go for quality. Stu’s umbrellas, regardless of how cheap they were, did him absolutely no good because they were not fit for purpose. In fact, they may have even given a negative impression of this hotel and restaurant.

He would have been much better off looking at good quality storm umbrellas. There are some really nice promotional umbrellas on the market that will last for years and get people into his restaurant and hotel!

Do you want to carry around a broken umbrella? How about your shirt? Would you still want to wear it if it began to show threads or fade?

Promotional clothing and umbrellas can help increase brand awareness. If they are good quality they could be doing their job of attracting customers for years.

Let’s look at it another way. If Stu purchased 50 £5.00 budget umbrellas and they lasted on average for 5 Days he would have been paying a pound per day for very little.

If on the other hand he invested in 25 top quality umbrellas at £20.00 each he could expect them to do their job for months if not years.

Promotional Gift Ideas for Occasions of all Sizes

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

How many ways can you think of to use promotional gifts?

More often than not people think of major advertising campaigns with printed promotional pens and eye-catching logo printed stress balls. Large advertising campaigns are indeed the perfect time to source your favourite promotional merchandise but what about smaller events?

Promotional products do not need to be purchased in massive quantities. Nicer quality promotional products can be purchased in very small quantities, even as few as one and engraved with someone’s name and/or logo.

This is often done around the holiday season when business people let their hair down and plan office Christmas parties and New Year get-togethers. Really, any event is perfect for promotional products! There are a large number of promotional gifts that can be used to commemorate special anniversaries, retirement days or top achiever awards.

In the past month alone, I have been contacted by a number of people looking for small quantities of top quality gifts. One woman was looking for table favours for her wedding and special gifts for the best man and bridesmaids. She found just what she was looking for from the large selection of promotional watches, metal coasters, engraved glasses and pocket mirrors on offer.

Another woman was planning a family reunion and specifically asked for mini digital photo frames to mark the day. We had a special family logo drawn up and engraved on the special commemorative gifts along with the date of the party.

The same person also had pictures of each family members printed onto t-shirts that were worn on the day. She told me that everyone felt a bit silly in them but they really helped make the day.

What other occasions can you think of that could benefit from promotional products?

Well allow me introduce a few more ideas to you. How about big birthday parties such as sweet sixteen parties? You could also use promo gifts to commemorate a special club event or to mark the end of an agonising charity run. I think you get the idea.

These gifts are all about making a special event even more special. People love to take something home with them to remember the day. Promotional gifts need not be expensive to be appreciated. In fact, it is often the low cost but usable products such as metal pens, t-shirts and desk clocks that get the most use and really do their job.

No matter what size your party or event may be, there are promotional products that will work perfectly to make the day or evening even better. Personalised promotional merchandise will make your event a day to remember.

There are three promotional products that are asked for day in and day out without fail. They are promotional pens, logo printed bags and of course promotional t-shirts. Using promotional t-shirts has been a popular marketing strategy for quite some time. The use of promoting brands with lightweight, low cost t-shirts really took off in the 1970s and their popularity as a promotional tool has grown significantly since then. In this article I aim to let you in on the most important things to consider when purchasing promotional t-shirts to promote your business or organisation. Promotional clothing such as logo printed t-shirts work as walking billboards for your logo and import message. Get it right and you could enjoying years of promotion from each and every shirt you giveaway or sell.

Who are your customers?

Millions of t-shirts are given away every years by businesses wanting to promote their brand. Some businesses are in the lucky position where they and sell the shirts to their customers and still reap the rewards of having them work as promotional walking billboards for them. Popular restaurants, bars and tourist shops in popular holiday destinations are all big purchasers of promotional t-shirts which they then sell on to their customers.

Branding

Most t-shirts are screen printed. Some heavy weight good quality shirts can also be embroidered. If your company colours are important to your brand, you may also want to build your brand with the use of t-shirts in similar colours.

Employee use

Many businesses use promotional t-shirts to promote themselves at work, at exhibitions and trade shows and at conferences. When purchasing t-shirts for employees it is important to consider how often they will be wearing the shirts. If you are order promotional logo printed shirts for a one off event and branding them for that event, it would be smart to look for inexpensive budget shirts. These t-shirts will look good on the day promoting your brand but will not last long. On the other hand, if you are purchase workwear for your employees that they will be wearing regularly, look for better quality shirts. It is a good idea when purchasing promotional workwear for employees to ensure each employee has a few shirts so that they do not need to wash them after every shift.
